THYMALIN® (Thymulin, Thymus Extract) – is natural thymic peptide that has been isolated from calf thymus and acts as an immunocorrector or immunostimulant. Restores impaired immune system (regulates the number and ratio of T- and B-lymphocytes and their subpopulations, stimulates cellular immunity reactions, enhances phagocytosis, stimulates regeneration and blood formation in the event of their oppression, and also improves the course of cellular metabolism.

USES

Immunodeficiency in adults and children (from 6 months to 14 years) with infectious purulent and septic processes.

Acute and chronic viral and bacterial infections.

Regenerative processes disorders.

Immunosuppression and hematopoiesis after chemotherapy or radiation therapy in cancer patients.

Neuroendocrine effects

DESCRIPTION

Thymalin is an immunomodulatory drug that is prescribed for various diseases in the patient’s body. Lyophilized powder for injection is used to treat reduced immunity, fatigue, dermatitis and even with cancer. It is used for the treatment of disorders of regenerative processes, acute and chronic infectious pathologies, disorders of the functioning of the thymus gland, depression of the immune system and blood formation after the treatment of cancer, septic and purulent infectious processes, multiple sclerosis and bronchial asthma. Against the background of the use of Thymalin, phagocytosis and cellular immunity are enhanced, regeneration processes are stimulated, hematopoiesis and cellular metabolism are improved (metabolism).

Thymalin, a polypeptide extracted from the thymic tissue, exhibits a multifaceted role in modulating immune responses, functioning as a pivotal regulator of lymphocyte proliferation and differentiation. This bioactive compound comprises a sequence of amino acids that are integral to the orchestration of various immunological processes, particularly in promoting T-cell maturation. The thymus gland, where this peptide is synthesized, plays an indispensable role in immunocompetence, particularly in the ontogeny of T-lymphocytes, which are critical for adaptive immunity. Thymalin has been observed to enhance the activity of T-helper and cytotoxic T cells, thereby augmenting the host’s ability to mount effective responses against pathogenic incursions.

Moreover, the therapeutic implications of thymalin extend beyond its immunostimulatory properties. Research underscores its potential applications in the realm of immunotherapy and regenerative medicine, particularly in the context of age-related immunosenescence and various pathophysiological states characterized by immune dysregulation. The administration of thymalin has been linked to the restoration of homeostatic equilibrium within the immune system, suggesting its role in the re-establishment of immune tolerance. This peptide’s ability to modulate cytokine profiles and influence the balance between pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory responses highlights its significance in therapeutic protocols aimed at ameliorating chronic inflammatory conditions and enhancing vaccine efficacy. Accordingly, thymalin serves as a compelling subject of investigation within the broader discourse on immune modulation and its implications for clinical practice.
